Francesco Seri was born in Pieve S. Stefano, a small town in the province of Arezzo, he began very early the study of the clarinet at the Conservatory “F. Morlaccchi “of Perugia, he graduated brilliantly under the guidance of Maestro Andrea Marzà. His musical training, as a clarinetist, sees him collaborate with some of the most representative chamber orchestras and ensembles on the national scene, National Orchestra of S. Cecilia, Sinfonietta di Roma, Symphonic Orchestra of Milan, Cameristi di Roma, Ottetto Amadeus and Quartet Recital. He attended advanced courses at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena under the guidance of the Masters Giuseppe Garbarino and Richard Stolzman and at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Maestro Alfred Prinz. After this first phase of his professional training he began studying conducting with Maestro Piero Bellugi in Florence.

Later he succeeds in having the luck and the honor of studying and perfecting himself with Maestro Carlo Maria Giulini in Milan and in Fiesole. He worked with the Orchestra of the Province of Catanzaro, obtaining praiseworthy acclaim from the public and critics, with the International Orchestra of Italy, with which he also directed the concert of the Jubilee of St. Francis at the Basilica Superiore del Sacro Convento of Assisi, with the Symphony Orchestra of Terni, with the “Guido d’Arezzo” Orchestra, with the Orchestra of the Conservatory of Ponta Delgada (Portugal), on the occasion of the inauguration of the concert season. In the 2006 Season of the Experimental Opera Theater in Spoleto he was the assistant of Maestro Franco Piva in the preparation of the Baldassarre Galuppi Opera “Abandoned Dido”. Also in 2006, for the season of the Puccini Festival of Torre del Lago, he was called to play the role of Assistant Music Director alongside the Maestro Claudio Scimone in setting up the “Turandot” by Giacomo Puccini.

In 2007 he made his debut as an opera director in “Rigoletto” by Giuseppe Verdi, inaugurating the narniOpera season. In 2012 he was invited to direct the Solisti di Perugia for the Sagra Musicale Umbra, where he directed a piece by the American composer Ofer Ben Amots.

His interpretations have been recorded by the Quadrivium, RaiTrade, Raimbow Classic record companies. He was the musical director of the soundtrack of the film “Ten Winters”, expressly wanted by the composers Francesco De Luca and Alessandro Forti. Still in the field of film music, in this case as a clarinetist, he was the soloist clarinet of the soundtrack, winner of the Oscar Award, of the latest film by Massimo Troisi “Il Postino”.

He was the Music Director of the Symphony Orchestra of Terni, of the Orchestra Città di Arezzo. He has worked as a musical director with well-known soloists including: Gloria Banditelli, Luca Vignali, Lia Altavilla, Giuliano Giuliani, Guido Arbonelli, Marinella Pennicchi, Luis Bacalov, Roberto Sechi and Stefano Novelli.

He currently teaches clarinet and ensemble music at the Classical and Musical High School “A. Mariotti “of Perugia.
