Marco Testoni is an unusual percussionist, composer and cinema music supervisor (Paolo Genovese, Marco Bellocchio, Luca Miniero, Silvio Muccino). His latest handpan solo album Impatiens featured the collaboration of Billy Cobham. With the striking and evocative sound of his set of Caisa drums (new generation of metallophones belonging to the same family as the more famous Caribbean steel drums) Marco Testoni has ince again highlighted the capacity of percussions to express a “lyricism of rhythm” fully, thus representing the artistic essence and manifesto of his musical style. Marco testoni’s score for BlackOut won the Best Original Song for an Italian Film prize awarded by the Premio Colonne Sonore 2014. In 2015 he won Premio Roma Videoclip as composer of the Year.

In 2016 he wrote and pubblished the book Musica e Visual Media (Audino Editore) about the relationship between music and video in new media.

He has been part of the Music Department in the production of Perfetti Sconosciuti and Lo Chiamavano Jeeg Robot, both italian nominee at Oscar 2017.
