The first mobility of the Erasmus+ project PEACEMUSIC was a true Job Shadowing experience. Our President, Andrea Ceccomori, and some of our members participated: composer Antonio Cocomazzi, violinist Sayako Obori, Nicoleta Enachi from our marketing and communication team, and Saveria Mariotti, an expert in musical improvisation.

Our staff was welcomed by the music faculty of Universidad Alfonso El Sabio from May 20th to May 25th, 2023. Our teaching and non-teaching staff were engaged in careful observation and sharing. It was an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the academic world with the aim of bringing back new inspirations to continue building Music for Peace.

Our teachers attended lessons taught by high-level professors, fully embracing their role as observers while actively participating, arousing the curiosity of students and teachers alike.

The work of our non-teaching staff was also valuable, as they had the chance to observe the logistical and administrative dynamics of a university in order to import some best practices into the work of Assisi Suono Sacro, a small organization seeking new challenges.

This first mobility, in addition to laying the foundation for the entire PEACEMUSIC project, represented an intense and engaging moment of cultural sharing and exchange. The passion for music made language barriers practically nonexistent and allowed two different entities, an association and a university, to meet and discover each other.

This first mobility is the first step of this long journey called Music for Peace, which will accompany Assisi Suono Sacro, its staff, and teachers in the coming months.

Assisi Suono Sacro would like to thank the participants for their availability and commitment during these five days. A special thanks goes to the professors and all the staff at UAX, who opened their doors and allowed us to enter their world.

Finally, we express our gratitude to the European Union, which funds this project and enables cultural and academic exchange between Assisi and Madrid, two physically distant but united realities sharing common values and principles such as solidarity, hospitality, and inclusion.
