Matteo Silva studied experimental composition at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan with M° Niccolò Castiglioni and clarinet with M° Cosimo Pomarico. He has worked as a radio producer and has performed worldwide since the early 1980s, in duo with Michael Vetter and the Overtone Choir and then with his own group devoted to harmonic singing . He also studied ethnomusicology and deepened his studies on sound with the masters Vemu Mukunda (Bangalore, India) and Tran Quang Hai (Musèe de l’Homme, Paris).

As a composer he released the albums “Ad Infinitum”, “Solaris” and “Omphalos”. As a producer he has released over 130 records including some with Michael Vetter, Sainkho Namtchylak, the Huun Huur Tu Ensemble, Terry Riley and Steve Reich. Matteo Silva is also active as an artist with multimedia installations and as a painter with his calligraphic work.
