Gianluigi Caldarola was born in 1986, in December 2018 he won the First Clarinet Soloist competition at the Royal de Wallonie Opera Orchestra in Liège.

He graduated brilliantly at the Conservatory “U. Giordano “of Foggia under the guidance of Maestro Vincenzo Conteduca. Then he perfected his studies at the Italian Academy of the Flute in Rome under the guidance of M. Calogero Palermo (very important for his pers0nal anda professional training) and he has participated as an actual student in the master classes of M. Corrado Giuffredi, Karl Laister and Alessandro Carbonare.

He was the winner of numerous auditions, scholarships and also 15 competitions, including the First Absolute Prize at the prestigious “Saverio Mercadante” International Clarinet Competition of Noci (BA), 1st overall prize in the Soloists category of the National Competition “Nuovi Orizzonti “in Arezzo, the 2nd Prize at the” Giacomo Mensi “International Clarinet Competition in Breno (BS), the 3rd prize in the” Rino Viani “competition in Carpi (MO), and the 3rd prize at the National Clarinet Competition “Ciro Scarponi” of Assisi.

He has collaborated with the Orchestra Cherubini founded by M. Riccardo Muti, the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano, the Orchestra of the Teatro Carlo Felice of Genova, the Orchestra of the Petruzzelli Theater of Bari, the Philharmonic Orchestra “Mihal Jora” of Bacau, Orchestra Symphony of the Metropolitan city of Bari, the Salernitana Philharmonic Orchestra of the Teatro Verdi of Salerno and the Orchestra of the Experimental Lyrical Theater of Spoleto playing under the direction of distinguished conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Fabio Luisi, Krzysztof Eugeniusz Penderecki Isaac Karabtchevsky, Nevill Marriner, Donato Renzetti, Piero Bellugi, Daniel Oren, Speranza Scapucci, Michele Mariotti, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Claudio Scimone, Paolo Arrivabeni, where they led him to perform in important theaters and international concert halls such as Finland, Belgium, Japan, Spain, France, China, Austria and where numerous performances were broadcast by various television and radio stations such as Rai and Radio Three. He performs an intense solo and chamber music activity, playing in various ensembles from the duo to the ensemble, with which he performed in important international festivals playing in prestigious halls such as the Helmut List Halle in Graz (Austria), the Lille Opera, the Basilica of Saint Denaisen (France) and the Korzerthaus de La Seine Musical in Paris.
